Introduction to the Pump
Features
Vibration alert
If you don’t want the pump to beep during alarms
and alerts, you can program it to vibrate instead. is
feature can be used in meetings, classrooms, etc. If
you choose Vibrate, the “beep” that accompanies each
key press is also disabled.
Occlusion (blockage) sensor
e occlusion sensor continuously tests for blockage
that prevents insulin from being delivered.
Cartridge sensor
ere is a sensor in the cartridge chamber that has
two functions. First, it senses when a cartridge is cor-
rectly loaded in the chamber. If the cartridge becomes
loose or detached during use, the sensor causes an
alarm to occur. Second, when you load a new car-
tridge into the pump, the sensor measures how much
insulin is in the cartridge, and displays this informa-
tion in the upper le part of the home screen.
Watertight
As long as the pumps labels and outer shell are intact
the Deltec Cozmo® insulin pump is watertight, so you
do not have to remove the pump when showering or
bathing, and allows for unlimited swimming activi-
ties. When diving, the pump is watertight to a depth
of 8 feet (2.4 meters) for 30 minutes or 12 feet (3.6
meters) for 3 minutes. You will need to discuss the
use of a watertight dressing on your infusion site with
your healthcare provider.
Caution: e CoZmonitor® module is NOT wa-
terproof. Do not immerse the CoZmonitor®
module in any liquid. Before bathing, swimming
or any other water activity, you must remove
the module from the pump. Heavy perspiration
could also gain access to internal components.
Allowing the CoZmonitor® module to get wet
will cause it to stop working. Repeatedly expos-
ing the CoZmonitor® module to liquids will
result in you being charged for replacement
modules. Contact CozMore® Customer Service
for specics.
History
e pump has a History feature that keeps track of
and displays a variety of delivery history information.
You can decide which reports you want displayed.
The CozMore® Insulin
Technology System
e CozMore® Insulin Technology System consists of
the Deltec Cozmo® Insulin Pump used with the
CozMonitor® Blood Glucose Module and the
CoZmanager® 2.0 PC Communications Soware.
If required, contact your local distributor for more
information on these products.
CoZmonitor® Blood Glucose Module
e CoZmonitor® Blood Glucose Module is powered
by FreeStyle® from Abbott Diabetes Care and uses
FreeStyle® test strips. Snap the CoZmonitor® module
onto the back of your Deltec Cozmo® insulin pump to
create an all-in-one insulin pump and blood glucose
system (see Caution below). When you insert a
FreeStyle® test strip and test a blood sample, the
CoZmonitor® module sends real-time blood glucose
results to your pump that can be viewed immediately
on the pump display, where you can choose to give
a correction or meal bolus, or return to the home
screen. All test results are automatically stored in
pump history.
NOTE: e CoZmonitor® Blood Glucose Module
may not be available in all markets. If you do
not have or do not plan to use the CoZmonito
module you do not need to read any instructions
associated with it.
Caution: e CoZmonitor® Blood Glucose
Module will only function when attached to
the Deltec Cozmo® Insulin Pump and cannot
be used as a standalone device or with any
other insulin pump.
