Congratulations! You have selected the Deltec Cozmo

Insu-

lin Pump to help you in the treatment of your diabetes.

Indications

The Deltec Cozmo

™

Insulin Pump is a syringe infusion pump

designed for Continuous Subcutaneous Insulin Infusion (CSII)

for the control of diabetes.

Contraindications

The pump is not indicated for anyone who cannot or will not

test blood glucose levels at least 4 times per day, as well as

maintaining regular contact with their diabetes team.

Delivery features

The pump is used to deliver insulin in two ways, as basal insu-

lin and as bolus insulin.

Basal rates

The pump is programmed to deliver a steady background flow

of insulin called the “basal rate.” You can program up to 4

separate basal rate patterns. Each pattern can contain up to 48

time/rate segments to meet your insulin needs throughout the

day and night.

•You decide which patterns to display in the menu, and also

choose a name for each pattern from a predetermined list.
