About the Pump

Pump settings

The Pump Settings menu allows you to perform certain

setup functions, such as setting the time and date,

setting up how the pump alarms, and personalizing

certain features. (Program Lock is also included in the

Pump Settings menu, but is discussed later in this

chapter on page 32.)

Warning: The time and date must be set correctly,

since basal patterns are time-based, and all of the

history is stored based on time and date. Occa-

sionally you will need to reset the time, for example,

during daylight savings time or to adjust for a differ-

ent time zone.

At the home screen, press Menu. Then, press

choose Pump Settings, then press Select.

Once inside the menu, you can choose between the

various items. Once you have entered a menu item, you

can either make a change to an item (use the

and

keys until the setting you want is displayed, then press

Next), or press Next to accept the displayed value.

Personalize is a sub-menu, and includes deciding how,

if or when certain pump alerts occur, which history

reports are displayed in the history menu (this is dis-

cussed in chapter 6, page 99), programming the re-

gional setting, and setting up Delivery (Delivery settings

are discussed in later chapters).

Regional settings

The regional settings determine how certain things are

displayed on the pump.

•Time can be displayed as 12 hour (AM and PM) or

24 hour.

• The date can be displayed as month/day/year (mm/

dd/yy) or day/month/year (dd/mm/yy).

• The decimal point can be displayed as either a Period

(xx.xx) or as a Comma (xx,xx).

When the pump is built, the default settings are: Time

format: 12 Hour; Date format: mm/dd/yy; and Number

format: Period. If these are correct for your region, you

can skip this section. If you use different settings, follow

the instructions on the next page.
